Fun events for the family will be taking place all day including face painting, decorate your own cookie and guess the number of sweets in the jar plus meet the volunteers from Thornberry Animal Sanctuary.

The Walled Garden Coffee Shop & Restaurant Opens
Twenty five years ago, in response to the growing demand for catering in garden centres, we found room to squeeze in four tables to accommodate 16 people in one corner of our main building. The rest as they say is now history.
The Walled Garden represents the latest development of the growth of this family owned independent garden centre (with the capability of seating 250 people under cover and many more on the outdoor terrace) and is based broadly upon the design of the former Palm and Plant House originally built within these gardens in 1908. The cost then was £4633.13s (including an extra £75 for a central tower).
Whilst the cost of this replacement has "slightly" exceeded the original the Walled Garden has been built upon sound modern day ecological principals. The building has attained an excellent energy rating and derives part of its heating requirements from renewable sources via solar power.
In addition, we continue to source much of our food locally. All the meat is provided by the Wentworth Farm Shop (on site here) and many of the dairy products are produced on the Wentworth Estate. We continue to strive to increase the percentage of foodstuffs used here locally and reduce 'food miles' to an absolute minimum.
Over the years many of our regular customers have become close family friends. It is with great pleasure that we can now offer all our valued customers (old and new) a warm and comfortable environment in which to dine.
