May Half-term Activities

Join us from Saturday 25th of May to Sunday 2nd of June for an enchanted adventure across our Family Farm and Historic Gardens! 

 

What’s on in the Historic Gardens...   

Enchanted Woodland Scavenger Hunt 

Explore the gardens in search of fairies, giant toadstools and even a grizzly bear! 

Each child will receive an activity pack on entry and a yummy sweet treat for completing the scavenger hunt.  

Price: Included in the regular admission price to the Historic Gardens. Adults £2.75, Children/Concessions £2 (under 1s free).    

Don’t forget, we offer free entry for RHS members, and we are currently taking part in the Gardeners' World 2-for-1 gardens entry scheme (RHS member/Gardeners' World 2-for-1 card must be shown on entry).  

Opening Times: 10 am – 4.30 pm daily.  

No pre-booking required, pay on entry.

What’s on at the Family Farm...  

Enchanted Woodland Colouring Competition - Our craft room will be set up and ready for any budding artists to colour in a masterpiece to enter in our daily colouring competition. The Family Farm team will announce a winner each day on their Facebook page so keep your eyes peeled for the chance to win free return entry (for one child) and a free bag of animal food! 

Daily Sack Race – Meet at our ‘Adventure Patch’ at 1.30 pm and see if you can jump your way to victory! Each winner will receive a sweet treat prize. 

Sow a Magic Bean – Plant your very own magic bean at our potting station and take it home to watch it grow! 

Try your luck - Have a go at our gnome ring toss game or see if you can hook a unicorn duck (hook a duck £2 per go, win a prize every time). 

Say cheeese! Make sure you come photo-ready as there'll be plenty of photo opportunities to take advantage of - the perfect way to remember your day out! 

Of course, in addition to our enchanted woodland-themed activities, there's lots more fun to be had at the Family Farm... 

Meet our animals - If you fancy a more hands-on experience with some of our animals then pop along to one of our animal handling sessions at the times below:   

10.30 am - Meet the tortoise 

11 am – Egg collecting at our chicken coop   

11.30 am – Feed & talk with our Asian palm civet  

12 pm – Meet the lizard 

1 pm – Meet the guinea pigs 

2 pm – Meet the snake 

2.30 pm – Meet the bamboo rat 

3 pm - Meet the rabbits

Have fun in the sun! Our sand and water play area, complete with its own giant pirate ship climbing frame, is the perfect place to spend a warm day in the sun. If your little ones love building sandcastles, we have buckets & spades available to purchase from our farm gift shop or feel free to bring along your own. We'd also recommend bringing a change of clothes and a towel for the little ones. 

Price: All the activities listed above (with the exception of hook a duck) are included in the regular admission price to the Family Farm. Adults £3.75 (Age 16+), Children £3.50 (under 1s free).   

Opening Times: 10 am – 4.30 pm daily (last entry 4 pm).
